The Concept of a Federation
The stakes for the war with the Bolsheviks affected not only the fate of Poland, but also that of Central Europe in its entirety . Józef Piłsudski believed that he would be able to forge a federation of Central European states that would be able to oppose Russia . His federation was to be based on states and nations which had historically been a part of the Republic of Poland.
